IMA Switzerland Chapter to Host First CPE Event:

“Finance 2.0 - How XBRL disrupts the value chain of financial reporting and primes it for more to come”
Financial reporting has changed dramatically over the past decade. Due to the convergence of accounting standards, this trend will continue. To date, however, the focus of change has been on the substance of financial reporting rather than on its processes and deliverables. Widespread introduction of XBRL has a similar effect on financial reporting and its usages as the spread of the Internet has on the economy. Financial analysis will benefit from cheaper, smarter and faster financial information.
Zürich, Switzerland, 17 September 2009 –

The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA®) Swiss Chapter will host a Continued Professional Education (CPE) event on 16 November 2009 at 18:00 at CfBS Center for Business Studies, Wengistrasse 1, 8004 Zürich. The IMA Swiss Chapter is the local affiliate of IMA, the world’s leading professional association for accounting and finance professionals.
The CPE event, open to IMA members and nonmembers, will cover the important topic of XBRL, eXtensible Business Reporting Language. Mr. Christian Dreyer CFA, will discuss the impact of XBRL in a presentation lasting approximately 1 hour, qualifying for 1 IMA-approved CPE credit for attendees. There will be a networking apero sponsored by Cilag AG, of The Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, immediately after the presentation.
